New Owners Position CruiserWorks™ for Expansion
CruiserWorks™, nationally known maker of industry-leading motorcycle boots, is now under the ownership of Sharp Capital Group, LLC of Salisbury, NC. Plans are to move operations from Hillsborough to Salisbury and position the company to provide an even higher level of quality and customer service.
Bob Richter, formerly Vice President of Sales and Marketing for CruiserWorks™, will become General Manager under the new organization. His career in business, technical expertise in the software industry, and 30 years as a motorcycle aficionado will make him a vital part in maintaining the legacy and history of CruiserWorks™ while leading growth and expansion, according to Skip Wood, Managing Principal for Sharp Capital Group.
“Cruising is a lifestyle, with a loyal and quality-focused customer base, and we plan to offer the products and service they expect and deserve while providing even more in the future,” Wood said. “As owners, we are caretakers of the great reputation and product.”
Sharp Capital (SharpCapitalLLC.com), a venture capital and private equity firm, supports projects its management feels are “interesting, fun, and headed on a clear path to continued success,” Wood explained. “CruiserWorks™ boots are trusted sidekicks to cruisers everywhere, and Sharp Capital brings the business acumen and financial strength to sustain a long-term commitment to complete customer satisfaction with every pair.”
To position itself for new growth, CruiserWorks™ will undergo a transition period to reorganize, upgrade its Web site and logistics systems, upfit the new facility in Salisbury, and hire and train additional staff. Plans are to re-launch the company with a full inventory of more than 1,700 pairs of boots on Aug. 8, 2011.
Weinbrenner USA, with more than a century of boot-making experience, has been chosen as the manufacturer for the new CruiserWorks Motorcycle Gear, LLC. “I spent several days at Weinbrenner’s principle factory in Merrill, Wisconsin, recently and walked away exceedingly impressed with their 100% USA-made and manufactured product,” Wood said. “As a matter of fact, I slipped on a new pair of our Tour model right off the production line and wore them home. They are GREAT boots.”
During the transition, current customers who have questions about orders, warranties or other issues may contact the company through its Web site, www.cruiserworks.com, and company representatives will respond on a case-by-case basis.
